The highly popular Government Education Village provides a unique opportunity to meet with senior representatives from the Department for Education and the Education & Skills Funding Agency.

This highly interactive feature on the show floor is a dedicated area for visitors to learn more about the latest policy updates, gain tailored advice for their schools and question leaders in an informal setting, all whilst hosting mini-demonstrations of projects currently being worked on across Central Government.

The DfE Theatre also sits within the Government Education Village, with dedicated sessions and presentations from various teams across the department.

EDUCATION SYSTEM ENGAGEMENT

Supporting schools and colleges to implement a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing which can support improved learning, behaviour and attendance. We would like to use this opportunity to promote the national offer of a DfE accredited training grant (up to the value of £1,200) for all state maintained schools and colleges to undertake senior mental health lead training, to develop a whole school/college approach to mental health and wellbeing. We will promote a recently commissioned online hub of practical tools and resources specifically to support mental health leads in schools and colleges; and a toolkit to support schools and colleges to plan their pastoral offer for pupils and students with social, emotional and mental health needs.

The SRM team works in partnership with the sector to help create a strong, robust and sustainable future schools’ system, by equipping every school and academy trust with the tools they need to get best value from all their resources.

The Engagement and Outreach (E&O) team form part of the Schools Commercial Team (SCT) within DfE. We provide and guidance to school business professionals (SBPs) and leadership teams to help schools achieve greater efficiency, value for money and promote compliance in their purchasing activity.

We are seeking to improve efficiencies for Academy Trusts in completing their financial returns to the DfE, we are also looking to improve the quality of the data reported. We will help attendees by explaining the process of how trusts can go about adopting the academies chart of accounts and automation to improve financial reporting processes and quality of data.

Our team conducts research with people who work in schools to gather their views on existing DfE services, to understand what services are needed in the future and to test new services. On the day we'd be demonstrating some of the digital services we are currently working on, explaining what user research is and how we conduct our research and, asking people to register their interest to participate in future research to ensure we understand their needs when we are building services that are relevant to them.
